Zhiwei Yun will be awarded the 2012 Sastra Ramanujan Prize. This prize is given annually for outstanding contributions by very young mathematicians to areas influenced by Srinivasa Ramanujan. (The age limit is 32 years, the length of Ramanujan's brief life.) The award will be presented in New Delhi on December 22nd, the 125th anniversary of Ramanujan's birth.

Zhiwei is being awarded this prize for his "fundamental contributions to several areas that lie at the interface of representation theory, algebraic geometry and number theory."
